Welcome to Ischia
"Dreamy" would be an accurate word to describe the hidden spots of the island of Ischia off the coast of Naples, Italy. "Breathtaking" would be appropriate to define the views of the Mediterranean from the hillsides. "Humorous" would explain the everyday interaction of the locals while going about their daily chores.
Capri's Neighbor
Welcome to Capri's neighbor....about a one hour boat ride away.......18 miles round, 6 major towns, and a world of charm which even some naive "Ischitani" are unaware of. Protruding Mount Epomeo heats the island waters with its volcanic origin which makes Ischia the island of the spas. Relax your aching muscles in thermal baths and natural mud facials, followed by a chilled glass of local white wine....ahhhh la dolce vita!

Ischia's Charm
In the late 1950's the elite of the world would anchor off the shores of Ischia. Aristotle Onassis, Gore Vidal, Peter Sellers to name a few. Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton spent time there while filming Cleopatra. But Ischia was humble, and most likely did not meet the demands of the rich and famous, so they moved on to the more established Capri. Today this is actually an advantage for Ischia because it's not overwhelmed with tourists and digital cameras which makes it more genuine.
